1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Briefly summarize the job's overall purpose or role. What is it expected to be achieved?
Provide overall the support and co-ordination of the procurement & logistics and other related functions.
Ensure the procurement process which fully integrated with the business and the supply market place in a cost effective manner whilst fully comply with relevant PMI & VPM Branch P&P.
Cordinate with VPM to ensure a logistic system which fully integrated with production activities in an effective, efficient manner whilst fully comply with custom regulation and VPM Branch requirements.
Team Lead: Lead local planning team, develop capability of planning team and manage back-up within team etc.
Bill Watson, Managing Director, Coats Phong Phu
Bill Watson is the Managing Director of Coats Phong Phu. He has been employed by Coats since November 2010.
He received a degree in chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and prior to his employment at Coats he spent 24 years in the Chemical Industry with Milliken & Co. There hespecialised in various plastics applications areas, working extensively in the commercial arena. In the last 19 years he has worked and lived exclusively in Asia, spending significant time in Korea, China, Taiwan, and Thailand. He has lived in Seoul, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and now resides in Ho Chi Minh City with his wife, Diana, and daughters Sophia and Brigitte.
On his time so far in Vietnam, Bill says "As for my current role, it is both extremely rewarding and challenging. Our management team jokes that we run into a big surprise every day that requires a solution, because it is such a fast and fluid business. Vietnam is literally at a crossroads between being one of many developing countries and a major global player in a variety of industries, and it is exciting to be able to witness both the country’s and the peoples’ transformation firsthand.”
