Supply Chain & Financial Performance Challenge   |   11 May 2016, JW Marriott Hanoi, Vietnam

A future without boundaries

Regional economic integration and the development in trade liberalization have had a profound impact on how supply chain works. Holistic supply chain is on the fast track in becoming the number one priority in every corporate in the world. Today, it is not only limited to logistics and physical movement anymore, e-commerce and IOT has transformed the take on traditional supply chain and forced critical new ways of viewing as an end-to-end value add chain.

Although rapidly gaining attention and transforming, success in the supply chain hinges on minimising disruptions. Anticipating what the changes are and adapting to them is essential for companies, of whom most volatility has truly become the new normal. Big data and predictive analysis have suddenly taken over and becoming one of the pillars in this industry.

On the financing side, efforts from the financial industry have improved in providing liquidity and working capital though still in its early stages. Corporates hope that financial institutions don’t merely price based on their KYC profile, but instead drills down to recognize the model and where it excels in providing the right finance solution.

The Supply Chain Challenge, Asian Banker Summit has become one of the event that gathers professionals from both corporates and financial institution. It provides a platform for the most senior practitioners from both sides of the spectrum to learn from their peers in different industries,as well as catch up with the emerging opportunities and identifying space for progress.

Key working sessions include:

  • Supply chain in the global context

  • Predictive data & analytics in innovative solutions

  • Risk management in the chain, suppliers & vendor management and fraud avoidance

  • Harnessing the financial infrastructure to succeed, roles of financial controllers in supply chain

Julien Brun, Co-Founder, Vietnam Supply Chain Association

With the AEC and TPP well underway, fundamental changes are bound to happen to the world’s most dynamic region. Join us in the discussion on how both trade and capital flows are changing and how to cope with the regions new ‘normal’.

On a closer level, businesses need to stop viewing supply chain as function but instead a core and continuous process. The need to be agile in supply chain planning and design, more so in this ever changing landscape is crucial in generating a suitable and sustainable business model.

On the finance aspect, searching for and implementing the most appropriate financing infrastructure is a challenge for today’s corporates especially the financial controllers of supply chain. FIs try to be the end-to-end providers of capital and cash flow but often fall short and couldn’t cater to their clients’ needs.
