The Logistics Forum 2018 organized by Vietnam Supply Chain will address both contemporary and fundamental topics in logistics recently in Vietnam, including warehousing, distribution, transportation, urban logistics, last mile logistic, domestic and export logistics… for a better efficiency and effectiveness in supply chains. The Logistics Forum 2018 also introduces future trends from the perspective of logistics and technology in logistics, encouraging cross-company collaboration in SCM.

Benoit Brule, Managing Director, GEODIS Vietnam

 

Based in Hochiminh City since February 2011, Benoit is responsible for Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics and Industrial Projects for Geodis in Vietnam. Prior to moving to Vietnam, he has been holding various positions within the airfreight, freight forwarding and logistics industries including 8 years in China. More recently, Benoît has been leading the development of Geodis Vietnam integrated Logistics Solutions combining and simplifying logistics offers – from freight transportation and logistics services to land distribution, and even direct-to-store delivery with dedicated industry focus on fashion, lifestyle, consumer goods / retail and industrial.

 

 

 

 

 

Tommy Trung Ngo Quang, General Director, Emergent Cold Vietnam (previously as Swire Cold Storage Vietnam)

 

Graduated from Moscow Social University (Russia) and Odessa Unisveristy of domestic economy (Ucraine); INSEAD business School; 20+ experience in the cold chain industry. Expert in IT (business application, database and business intelligence).

 

 

 

 

 

Julien Brun, Managing Partner, CEL Consulting

 

Julien is the founder and Director of CEL Consulting, the first international Supply Chain and Operations consulting firm in Vietnam. He is now managing a team of consultants who is fully involved in providing their expertise to procurement, manufacturing and logistics related businesses in the region. MSc in mechanical and system engineering (Technology University of Troyes, Ecole Nationale des Arts et Metiers, Paris), he gathered experience and know-how at several positions in product/process optimization in aeronautics (Airbus, Cooper tool) and automotive industry (Peugeot Citroen, Rover group) in France, England and Holland. Julien has spent as well 2 years in Africa, where he coordinated logistics and food distribution for >100,000p refugee camps in Africa, for the account of WFP (World Food Program) and UNHCR (High Commissioner for Refugees). From his arrival in Vietnam in 2005, Julien immediately felt lined up with local dynamism and developed the firm intention to support actively the country's industrial development. Beside consulting work, he is now lecturer in Lean Management and SCM in for Executive MBA program of CFVG Ho Chi Minh city. Julien used to be the Vice President of French Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh chapter) and now acts as Board Member at the CCIFV.

 

Andrea Tretti, Senior Manager - Supply Chain, CEL Consulting

 

Andrea is supply chain senior manager at CEL consulting in Ho Chi Minh City, company specialized in providing consultancy, technology and training solutions in the field of Demand Management, Supply Chain and Logistics in emerging markets.  He received M.Eng. degree in Industrial engineering and management from the University of Padua, Italy, and the micromaster credential in Supply Chain Management from MIT. Winner of The Fresh Connection supply chain global competition in 2017. He worked in logistics operations and supply chain consulting and training for SMEs and multinational companies in Portugal and Brazil, before moving to Vietnam in 2017.

 

 

 

Dr. Eckart Dutz, General Director, Pacific Partners

 

Eckart is General Director of Pacific Partners (VN), Ltd., a Sourcing Company specialized in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (Food and Nonfood). That includes export activities to Markets in the Pacific Islands as well as the import of Nonfood products (Sole agent for UBL China) to Vietnam. Most recently he has opened a Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City (www.theloop.vn) . He came to Vietnam in 1995 and has worked from 1996 - 2004 for Unilever in Vietnam, Thailand, Netherlands, Germany in various Supply Chain positions. Most recently as Regional Supply Chain Manager for Ice Cream for South East Asia. Eckart received a PhD in Supply Chain Management from Mannheim University (Germany) and a Diploma in Business Administration as well as a Post Graduate Degree (Lic.rer.pol.) in International Economics. He is CoFounder of the Vietnam Supply Chain (www.vietnamsupplychain.com) and previously on the Boards of Advisors of the Vietnam Supply Chain Council as well as an Advisor to the Sourcing & Purchasing Club Vietnam. Furthermore he is Lecturer for the Executive MBA Programs of the RMIT and the Vietnam National University as well as Eastern International University in Binh Duong.

 

Khiem Tran, Managing Director, Smartlog 

 

Khiem joined Smartlog since 2017 to partner with leading logistics companies in Vietnam for their smart logistics solutions. Smartlog is a start-up based company aims to transform Vietnam logistics industry through enable power of information technology. Prior to his stint at Smartlog, Khiem spent more than 10 year of experience in logistics operation with P&G, V.N.B.C., DongA Bank, DMSpro and Gemadept Logistics. 

 

 

 

 

 

Dzung Phan, Country Manager, NinjaVan Vietnam

 

Dzung Phan is the Country Head of Ninja Van Vietnam and is responsible for all of Ninja Van business activities and operations. Before this role, Dzung was a management consultant in Monitor Group, Deloitte Consulting, and Roland Berger in Singapore, where he has experience across sectors such as transportation, telecommunication, and public sectors. Dzung graduated with a Master of Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

 

 

 

 

Rainer Brohm, GIZ Renewable Energy Advisor, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

 

Mr. Rainer Brohm has 15-year experience in the environmental and renewable energy sector with a strong focus on policy consulting and market research. From 2007 until 2014, Mr. Brohm worked for the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) heading their Governmental Relations and International Affairs department. In 2014 Mr. Brohm shifted his consultancy work to Southeast Asia and since 2015 he has been supporting the GIZ Energy Programme Vietnam as a renewable energy advisor, conducting extensive studies on the Vietnamese solar market, e.g. exploring investment opportunities for Solar PV rooftop applications in the Vietnamese commercial and industrial sectors. Mr. Brohm studied political science, international relations and business administration in Berlin, Hagen and Amsterdam.

 

 

 

Hamza HARTI, Country Director, FM Logistic VIET NAM

 

Mr Harti joined FM Logistic in 2013 as part of the strategic projects team for 2 years where he contributed to the acquisition of Spear Logistics in India. He then managed warehousing operations in France for more than 2 years with a strong experience in Complex Retail Operations. He is now leading FM Logistic Vietnam after almost 1 year of its establishment

 

 

 

 

Dr. Tuan Vu Anh, Director, Vietnamese-German Transport Research Centre (VGTRC)

 

Dr. Vu Anh Tuan is currently a Co-Director of Vietnamese-German Transport Research Centre (VGTRC) under the Vietnamese-German University (VGU). Dr. Tuan earned his Doctoral Degree and MSc. in the field of Transport Planning and Traffic Engineeringfrom the University of Tokyo, Japan. Prior to VGU, hewas aResearch Fellow at Institute of TransportPolicy Studies (ITPS) in Tokyo, Japan for three years. During the period, his research focused on transport problems and innovative policy solutions for Asian cities in the long term. Previously, he workedat Asian Development Bank Institute (Tokyo) as a Research Associate on a project namely ADB/ADBI’s Flagship Study “Infrastructure for a Seamless Asia”. Dr. Tuan was a former lecturer at Department of Civil Engineering, Hanoi University of Transport and Communicationsbefore going to Japan for graduate study. Tuan’s research interest coversbroad fields, including transport planning methods, innovations, and transport policies in developing countries. He is actively participating in consulting services and as policy advisors for key infrastructure development projects in Vietnam, such as Accessibility Improvements for UMRT Line 1 (Ben Thanh – SuoiTien, Ho Chi Minh City, funded by JICA), HCMC Green Transport Development (funded by the World Bank), and Urban Road Traffic Congestion Program (funded by HCMC Department of Sciences and Technologies).

 

Thanh Nguyen Trong, Manager of Transportation & Logistics, Adidas Sourcing

 

THANH is currently working as Manager Transport & Logistics in adidas Sourcing ltd. He graduated from Vietnam Maritime University and continued to deepen his knowledge of logistics with Msc in Maritime & transport management in ITMMA, Belgium (Institute of transport & maritime management Antwerp). The love for sport bring him to various Logistics positions in 2 Sport giant companies Decathlon & adidas during the past 5 years. In his free time, he watches football, goes swimming & plays ping-pong with friends.

 

 

 

 

Roberto Mattos, Senior Consultant - Supply Chain, CEL Consulting

 

Roberto Mattos is a senior consultant of CEL Consulting. During his career he has been involved in a broad set of solutions focusing on Business and Supply Chain improvement in emerging market countries. He is also an active researcher in the Humanitarian Logistics and Sustainable Supply Chain Management fields.

 

 

 

 

Trang Nguyen Thi Hien, Project Officer, Energy Support Programme, GIZ Vietnam

 

GIZ is a non-profit organization implementing development projects funded and commissioned by the German government in 130 countries worldwide. In Vietnam, GIZ is supporting the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the private sector in the development and exploitation of renewable and innovative energy applications. Ms. Trang currently holds the position of Project Officer of GIZ Project Development Programme (PDP), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to implement the German Energy Solutions Initiative. Her assignments include supporting and liaising German and Vietnamese companies in engaging in the renewable energy sector in Vietnam; developing networks and platforms of companies in the sector and especially providing technical support to local private sector in developing pilot renewable energy projects. She has successfully supported the realization of several solar projects in Vietnam including a rooftop solar system at Emergent Cold facility in VSIP Bac Ninh in 2017. Ms. Trang had experiences in match-making foreign and Vietnamese companies from her previous position in the Business Match Making Program- Innovation Norway. She also worked in the private sector as Production Coordinator in Furniture and Seafood Processing. Trang got her MSc in Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Netherlands.

 

Merlin Gerhard Kwan, COO, SHELEV - Part of Choon Heng Group

 

As a consultant and serial business owner in F&B, Entertainment, and vehicle leasing, Merlin has 17 years of experience in Europe and Asia – with a rare blend of business design and integrated marketing leadership. Merlin has experience in building and transforming businesses in frontier markets and has worked closely with government agencies like Spring Singapore and IE Singapore, as business-design mentor for selected growth companies in manufacturing and logistics. Merlin’s work has been awarded with more than 20 global industry awards, including Epica Awards, Gold at Global Awards, SMCA Management Consultancy Project of the Year, New York Festivals, and Asia ADfest. Merlin is also Founder and CEO of Triple One, the first Experience Design firm in Vietnam, and the co-founder and COO of Shelev Vietnam, a rapidly growing truck fleet leasing company in Vietnam.

 

 

 

Lan Nguyen Duc Quynh, VP Operations, Lazada Express Vietnam

 

Lan has 18+ Years in Operations in Ecommerce Logistics, Conventional Logistics including Retail, FMCG, Technology, Industrial products and 3PL and  6+ in End to End Supply Chain Management in Demand & Supply Planning, Manufacturing Capacity Planning,   Procurement, Shipping, Quality, Inventory Management, Warehouse & Distribution.   
Prior to the VP Operations role at Lazada Express, she has worked at DHL Supply Chain,DHL Express, Hafele, Cargill. She is BA, MBA, DBA in progress, and also contributed her insights to International Journal Published at Harvard International Journal of Arts and Science.

 

 

 

 

David Elsner, Head of Solutions & Planning, Lazada E-Logistics (LeL) Vietnam

 

David Elsner is Head of Solutions of Lazada eLogistics Vietnam, managing logistics services, forecasting & performance management. He joined Lazada, the leading online shopping mall in South East Asia, mid 2013. Before joining in Lazada Vietnam, he worked in Project Management for MTU Aero Engines and led academic projects on supply chain optimization at Germany's biggest semiconductor producer Infineon Technologies. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology & Management of the Technical University Munich.

 

 

 

 

Greg Ohan, Deputy CEO, BW Industrial Development

 

Greg joined the Property Industry in 2004. Starting his career in Sydney, Australia where Greg helped lead multinational real estate firm CBRE in Australia and Hong Kong, In 2011, Greg was recruited to join CBRE Vietnam setting up Vietnam's first dedicated ‘Industrial & Logistics Services’ Real Estate team under CBRE to this day remaining one of the best performing agency teams under his formation. Focused on representing occupiers entering the Vietnam market and assisting developers to market Vietnam's Industrial and Business Parks and attract occupiers, Greg joined JLL Vietnam driving the business to become a local leading service provider before being recently recruited by one of Vietnam’s most exciting new joint venture’s “BW Industrial Development”. As Deputy CEO of BW Industrial Development, a joint-venture between Vietnam’s largest private equity investor, US based Warburg Pincus and Vietnam’s largest industrial and infrastructure developer Becamex IDC, Greg is responsible for the acquisition, construction and marketing of over 2 million sq.m of industrial & logistics real estate establishing ‘BW Industrial Development’ the Number 1 institutional For-Rent Industrial & Logistics Real Estate Developer in Vietnam. Since 2014, Greg has been an elected board member and National Director for AUSCHAM (the Australian Chamber of Commerce) for the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City chapters in Vietnam. Greg is also regularly requested to support various charities across Vietnam and internationally as an award-winning Auctioneer for various institutions and government organisations including the British Royal family.

 

Song Huynh, Head of Transportation, Lazada E-Logistics (LeL) Vietnam 

 

Mr Song works in Lazada eLogistics (LeL) as the Vice President of Transport since April 2017. He is responsible to oversee the First Mile and Last Mile Delivery Operations for both domestics and cross border parcels in Vietnam. He manages the relationship with all LeL’s Third Party Logistics partners. His primary objective is to ensure all Lazada’s shoppers, andsellers received the best services which is second to none in Vietnam. From June 2016 to March 2017, Mr Song was working for FUTA Express as the Deputy Director of Operations. He was responsible for the entire FUTA Express’ delivery service that covered from Năm Căn, Cà Mau to Hà Nội metropolitan area. From June 1993 to January 2016, Mr Song served the United States Army as the Logistics Commissioned Officer. During his time in the US Military, Mr Song had served one combat tour in Afghanistan as the Logistics Advisor to the Afghan Border Police. Mr Song had been serving the US military in Panama, South Korea, Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan as Logistics Officer at multiple echelon ranging from Platoon to Corps. Mr Song is honorably retired from the US Army in 2016 and current living in Ho Chi Minh City.
