We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, committed candidate to join our team in Ho Chi Minh City for the position of Assistant Manager, Development & Commercialization (Footwear Sourcing). Job Description

Purpose/Key Responsibilities: (Mission of job/General area of responsibility)

- Supports the Manager Development/Commercialization in developing a defined range of products.
- Ensure product is developed to cost targets. Work collaboratively with suppliers to optimise value/cost ratio.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Product:

- Ensures all products are developed and commercialized in accordance with design and specification requirements as detailed by headquarters while maintaining an emphasis on performance and integrity.
- Ensure developed product is fully evaluated and commercialization (without promising the integrity of the developed prototype) in preparation for mass production. Ensures product evaluation covers areas of fit and wear performance, grading and commercial viability.
- Is aware of adidas brand mission, core values and customer focus; understands adidas product history.
- Supports the Dev / Com Manager in working with manufacturers and suppliers in continuous upgrades of technical applications and processes based on specifications and headquarter directions.
- Should act as an innovative source of ideas to development and design through working with related vendors and manufacturers.
- Communicate information to the commercialization team in headquarters for process and equipment upgrades.


* Operations:

- Is required to work within development and commercialization timelines without compromising product quality and design integrity.
- Understands and assists in the implementation of all adidas development and commercialization guidelines.
- An innovative source of ideas to development, commercialization and design through working with related vendors and manufacturers.
- Ensures that Development Tech Packages received include all the necessary information required to facilitate product development.
- Processes all SMU requests such as New Colorway, New Upper etc with the same thoroughness as with inline products with a special focus on SMU timelines.
- Ensures timely delivery of samples of the highest standard in the industry at all stages of development and commercialization (Pre PPR, PPR, Pre PFR, Pre-sell, SMS, MCS, IES fit and wear test samples, FES.)
- Initiate the PPR and PFR tear down meeting with adidas & factory production team.
- Provide complete product development and commercialization information to the production team to ensure products reach production stage.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Management team and the costing and planning team on the status of the projects.
- Facilitate collaboration between factories, development, commercialisation and costing to achieve cost targets. Ensure cost efficiencies, value/cost ratio and BOM/CBD accuracy are key objectives throughout the development and commercialization process.
- Provide support in determining and integrating the best possible application for product without compromising on design specification and cost allowance; work on implementing advanced technical developments in the commercialization process as appropriate.
- Co-operates with factory and production team in conducting the production trial in a timely manner; work closely with factory and the production team in resolving any potential problems, which may occur in the transition of the product from commercialization to production.
- Is able to co-operate and communicate well with an internationally diverse group of colleagues in the LO offices and in headquarters; is able to work closely with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Has a good understanding of suppliers’ delivery timelines (such as last, mould, cutting dies, …) and plan ahead accordingly.
- Understand all company KPI’s and support the factory team to meet them.
- Actively participates in the HPWT or other trainings the company being offered.

Job Requirements

- At least 5 year experience working in Industrial, mechanical, material or chemical engineering field.
- IT knowledge (basic office applications, competent in the use of PDM).
- Preferably holds a degree in a post-secondary discipline (e.g. Associate’s Degree, B.A. etc).
- Fluent English (Speaking, Writing, Reading)
