Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM) has been founded in Hanoi with the participation of 5 biggest foreign-owned manufacturers.

They included the Japanese-owned Honda Vietnam Co, Suzuki Vietnam Co. Ltd, and Yamaha Vietnam Co. Ltd, Italian-owned Piaggio Vietnam Co. Ltd, and Taiwanese-owned SYM Co.

VAMM is established under Decision No. 996/QD-BNV of the Minister of Internal Affairs. The decision was signed on August 26, 2013.

The objective of the association is to build a forum to connect motorcycle manufacturers in Vietnam, apply advanced technology in accordance with international standards, make high-quality and environmentally friendly motorcycle products, ensure a healthy competitive environment in this field, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members in accordance with the law of Vietnam.

After being established, VAMM has officially put into operation and elected Honda Vietnam as the president for the first term, from 2013 until the end of 2015.

During this time VAMM will continue to work to complete many targets including stabilizing organizational structure, finalizing administrative procedures for the registration of a representative office which will act as a liaison between VAMM and the State, boosting trade promotion and integration of the members.

Currently VAMM representative office is located at Honda Vietnam’s headquarter in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.
