A medical cotton and gauze technical demonstration model is expected to help medical companies to make large profits with a short return on their investment.

The Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy Center 1 (IPC1) and Agency for Regional Industrial Development (ARID) have disbursed VND227 million as industry promotion funding to invest in a medical cotton and gauze production line at the An Lanh Co., Ltd., located in An Xa Industrial Complex, My Xa Commune, Nam Dinh Province. The total investment for this production line is VND17.962 billion.
According to IPC1 Director Nguyen Toan Thang, the medical cotton and gauze production project received the center’s support because these products are easily consumed on the market. Moreover, only a few companies are producing medical cotton and gauze across the country, while the demand for these products, especially in large hospitals, is increasing. Due to a lack of these products, medical facilities must import the alternatives at high prices. So, in terms of market, investment opportunities of the project are effectively ensured.
With current industry promotion funding support, An Lanh Co., Ltd., can build workshops, warehouses and production lines. “Our machinery and equipment used in the producing medical cotton and gauze are mainly imported from European countries and China, with a view to produce high-quality products able to stay competitive on the domestic market,” Director of An Lanh Co., Ltd., Nguyen Chi Dung said.
The company’s products have reached the international standard ISO 9001-2000 thanks to meeting strict quality requirements in terms of fiber density, hygiene, dried residue, and pH concentration.
The model will reach production capacity of 2,000 tonnes and annual revenue of more than VND152 billion per year. The average annual net profit may reach VND1.809 billion and the payback time may be only about five years.
The model will create new jobs for local workers, with incomes ranging from VND2-3 million VND per person per month, contributing to local restructuring of labor.

This is just one of many models supported by IPC1 this year. Along with ensuring the economic efficiency of the beneficiaries, the model will assist businesses towards sustainable development. “IPC1 is always beside businesses and ready to provide substantial support for them to move to sustainable development,” Thang said.
